Everyone in the school community has one priority – to put our children first. We are working tirelessly to create an outstanding school, where every pupil has a chance to fulfil their potential. Our door is always open. We do everything to help our parents, from offering wraparound care from 7:30am – 6pm, to providing minibuses to bring our children to school. Lanesfield is a school where everyone is proud to be a pupil, teacher or parent, and is on a continual journey of improvement to make it even better.

We recognise that every child is different – no pupil at Lanesfield is just a number on a register. All of the staff know every pupil as an individual and help them develop their unique character. Our classrooms are vibrant, buzzing places to learn with the pupil’s work and colourful images covering the walls. The curriculum is innovative and is designed to both spark the imagination, and develop essential academic skills. Our outstanding teachers bring subjects to life with an enthusiasm that inspires a lifelong love of learning. Every one of our teaching staff are on a continuous journey of improvement to improve their skills even further.

Respect for Ourselves and Others

There is a “Lanesfield Way” in dealing with each other. The behaviour in our school is outstanding. The key is that it’s based on every pupil taking responsibility for their self, and how they treat others. We instil self-reliance at an early age – we challenge our pupils to do the right thing, and our pupils fully embrace this.

Embracing New Technologies and Teaching Techniques

We never stand still to achieve the highest quality of teaching, and know that technology is now part of every child’s life. We use iPads as learning tools and have qualified Apple Learning teachers to exploit their full potential. We continually examine how we learn, and how the science of teaching can help us adopt new ways to excite and inspire our children in the classroom.

Exercising Body and Mind

All our pupils enjoy the many activities we offer them. Where do we start? Our specialist music teacher ensures that everyone can experience the joy of playing an instrument, and our Boy Band love singing their heart out. We have a Forest School, and our dedicated sports teacher ensures many different sports can be enjoyed. Last but not least, is our unique Lanesfield Passport – a list of 100 essential things in life to experience during your time at Lanesfield – from climbing a tree to visiting a West End Show!
