Our 1:1 iPad Journey

OUR Vision
Our vision is to create extraordinary educational experiences that inspire and empower all learners with a unique atmosphere and endless opportunities. Where every child is known as an individual, and instilled with the belief that anything is possible. Providing continuous access to Apple technology through Years 1-6, enables experiential, collaborative and reflective learning. It gives children memorable learning experiences, creating something new as they apply their learning.
At Lanesfield, our vision drives our students to become leaders of the future because we understand they will go on to: re-imagine the norm and make progress where leaders before them have not. By inspiring our students, we ignite the passion of learning, the thirst for knowledge, opportunities to be creative, ability to take risks, whilst allowing them to be reflective learners who can refine, apply and constantly improve.
Impact
Our 1:1 iPad approach has a strong and positive impact on learning, inclusion and pupil outcomes across Lanesfield. Continuous access to technology from Years 1–6 enhances teaching and learning, enabling pupils to engage in purposeful, creative and increasingly personalised learning experiences.
Pupils make strong progress across the curriculum, with classroom outcomes demonstrating secure understanding, growing independence and confident application of skills. Learning is collaborative and reflective, allowing pupils to evaluate their work, deepen understanding and take pride in producing high‑quality outcomes.
The use of iPads significantly improves access for all learners. Pupils with SEND benefit from personalised support, built‑in accessibility features and targeted scaffolds that promote confidence, independence and sustained progress. EAL learners, particularly in reading, make accelerated progress through visual, audio and interactive tools that support vocabulary development, fluency and comprehension, enabling them to achieve alongside their peers.
As a result, pupils develop resilience, creativity and self‑belief. They become reflective learners who are confident to take risks, refine their work and aspire to achieve, preparing them well for the next stage of their education and future opportunities.
Next Steps
As we work towards becoming an Apple Distinguished School, our next steps are rooted in keeping children at the heart of our practice. We will continue to ensure that every child is known as an individual and that learning experiences are inclusive, purposeful and aspirational. All teachers have completed their Apple Teacher badges and portfolios, with learning support staff also developing portfolios to strengthen consistency and impact across the school.
Our Apple Learning Coach and digital team will support staff through coaching, collaboration and shared best practice, ensuring technology enhances creativity, reflection and meaningful learning. By capturing clear evidence of impact and pupil voice, we will continue to develop confident, creative and reflective learners who believe anything is possible and are well prepared for the future.
