Reception Home Learning - Autumn 1 2026

Each half term, your child is invited to complete one creative home learning project during the half term holiday which will be linked to our Reception topic. We hope your child will have fun creating, making and talking about their learning at home.

Our topic for Autumn 1 was “Home Sweet Home” – and the home learning project to be completed during the October Half Term holiday is to build a special home! 🏡

Can you work with an adult to make a model of your home?

You could use:

✅ Boxes

✅ Lego

✅ Recycled materials

✅ Craft materials 

You can talk about:

🏡 Who lives in your home?

🏡 What is your favourite room?

🏡 What makes your home special?

⭐️ As an extra challenge, add labels or draw your family inside.

Optional Family Challenge: Take a photograph of your project while you are making it and write a sentence together:

“I enjoyed learning about __________ because  __________”

Please bring your finished project, photographs or drawings into school after half term to share with the class!
